Henryetta High School’s football team is finding ways to not only give back to their community this weekend, but is attempting to raise funds for new equipment.
The first ever Knights Car Show is planned for Saturday, July 27 at Cameron Field. Residents can enjoy a variety of activities, such as a silent auction, pie auction and more. Admission into the car show is $3 but little league players and cheerleaders get into the event for free if they are wearing their uniform.
Registration will be available the day of the event for $50. Entrants will have the chance to win prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.
Head Football Coach Lance Beck wanted to find a new way of raising the necessary monies to improve workout equipment at Cameron Field. Talking with his fellow football coaches, Beck landed on the idea of a car show.
All the proceeds from the Knights Car Show will go towards helping the Knights replace and upgrade certain equipment and supplies, Beck said.
The Knights have experienced tremendous growth this season with new players signing up. Beck has already utilized a big portion of his budget making sure his athletes are properly outfitted for the coming season.
However, the Knights are still in need of additional workout equipment, such as new bumper pads for weightlifting, purchasing new weights, and other little things a football team needs to make it through the season.
