Henryetta High Schooler Joey Watson swept the competition at the American Bass Anglers two-day tournament this weekend. Traveling to Grand Lake, Watson competed against fishers from around the region. Watson placed 3rd the second day of the tournament, catching three fish for a total of 248 points. Competing in Co-Angler Division 14, Watson caught three fish the second day of the tournament. The three fish total 8.36 pounds, which garnered him 3rd place. The day before Watson caught one fish that weighed in at 2.79 pounds, placing him 28th in the tournament. Watson is now ranked 7th in Co-Angler Division 14 with a total of 706 points after competing in three events and catching six fish. The top spot in Watson’s division is currently held by Shane Cashman, of Henryetta, who has 740 points with nine fish caught throughout three tournaments. Cashman also competed at the Grand Lake where he took 4th the first day of the competition with three fish caught, weighing in at 9.31 pounds. Earning 247 points the first day, Cashman returned to the lake for the second day of the competition, catching three fish which weighed in at 7.85 pounds, earning him 7th place with a total of 244 points.
