Coach Beck speaks during Rotary meet

Guest speaker at the July 10 Henryetta Rotary Club meeting was new Henryetta High School Head Football Coach, Lance Beck. Coach Beck said that the coaching staff is coming together

Guest speaker at the July 10 Henryetta Rotary Club meeting was new Henryetta High School Head Football Coach, Lance Beck.

Coach Beck said that the coaching staff is coming together and players are “getting bigger, stronger and faster.”

“The most players at one workout was 33,” Coach Beck said. “I’m really proud of our guys. There are nearly 50 players on the roster for the upcoming season.”

He discussed the upcoming fundraiser for the football team, the Henryetta Knights Car Show, to be held on Saturday, July 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cameron Field.

“We are in need of different equipment,” Coach Beck said, “and that is what the fundraiser is for.”

Proceeds will go to update and replace old and worn equipment.

Registration fee to enter the show is $35.All kinds of vehicles (cars, motorcycles, trucks), anything you want to show are welcome.

There will be a small gate charge of $3 per person with Little League players and cheerleaders admitted for free if they are in uniform.

During the car show, there will be a pie aution and a silent auction as well as a live bluegrass band performing.

“Donations are still needed for the auctions,” Coach Beck said.

Some of the items received so far for the silent auction have been a one-hour massage, wallet and earrings and a basket of goodies.

Harvey’s BBQ of Henryetta will be on hand and a concession stand will be open.

Coach Beck said there will be a kids area with inflatables, other things and possibly a dunk tank.

He said the team is asking for donations or partnerships.

“I want my boys to be in the community, helping you all just as you are helping us,” Coach Beck said.

At this time, napkins, forks, spoons and containers for the concession stand are greatly needed, he added.

For more information, to register for the car show or to make a donation, please contact Coach Beck via email at: henryettafootball@henryetta.k12.ok.us or the Henryetta Quarterback Club on Facebook.
