A Tiger Mountain-area resident faces charges related to threatening to kill his mother and father.
Charles Darin Johnson, 43, was arrested on June 4 and charged with feloniously pointing a firearm and endeavoring to perform an act of great bodily harm, both felonies.
McIntosh County Associate District Judge Brendon Bridges set bond at $600,000 and ordered the defendant to have no contact with the victims.
Five people, including Johnson’s parents, Bill and Mary Sue Johnson, have filed for protective orders against him.
Johnson will appear in court for a pre-preliminary hearing conference at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 19.
According to court filings, on June 3 Johnson pointed a handgun at his mother, Mary Sue Johnson, and said “he would blow her head off.”
On the same day he allegedly demanded to know where his father, Bill Johnson, was and stated he was going to kill him.
The defendant reportedly lives across the road from his parents in the McIntosh County area of Tiger Mountain. Their postal address is Henryetta in Okmulgee County. In a probable cause affidavit filed by investigating officer, McIntosh County Deputy Sheriff Gregory Pelley, Mary Sue Johnson called the sheriff’s office at about 6:30 p.m. on June 3 and reported that her son had threatened her and her husband, Bill. “(She) reported that her son had pulled into her driveway and asked where her husband, Bill Johnson, was. She advised that he would be home in about 30 minutes,” Pelley stated in his report. The defendant allegedly grabbed a pistol, got out of his vehicle and walked to the porch where his mother was standing. Pelley stated that the mother said her son “pointed the pistol in front of her mouth and said “I will blow your … head off and drag you down there.” Charles Johnson then allegedly told his mother he was going to kill Bill Johnson. Pelley and four other deputies went to the suspect’s residence and arrested him. Five handguns were found at the location.
