Okmulgee County Family YMCA will host a Summer Youth Weightlifting Classes on Tuesdays and Thursday starting Tuesday, June 4 through Thursday, Aug. 8. Classes will be held from 10 a.m.
Okmulgee County Family YMCA will host a Summer Youth Weightlifting Classes on Tuesdays and Thursday starting Tuesday, June 4 through Thursday, Aug. 8.
Classes will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. for girls ages 11 and above and from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. for boys ages 11 and above.
Those attending the classes will learn correct and safe lifting form, gym etiquette, static and dynamic stretching, full body routines, ascending pyramid, reverse pyramid, super settings, strength and power building.
“Upon completion of the program, participants will have the ability to work out in a safe and productive manner,” Ron Sumrell, class instructor, said.
Each class will include one hour of weight training and 15 minues of nutritional education.
A mandatory guardian and coaches meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 28 at 6 p.m. at the YMCA.
Registration is due by or before the mandatory meeting. Cost to register is $65 for members or $85 for non-members.
