TULSA - The Henryetta Golden Knight tennis team captured their second regional championship in the last five years Monday evening at LaFortune Park.

The regional championship will send each member of the Knight net squad to this weekend's Class 4A state tennis championships at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center in Oklahoma City.

The Knights finished with 32 team points in the 8-team field at the Class 4A regional tennis tournament, edging past Regent Prep and Oologah, who finished tied for second with 28 points each.

Skiatook was fourth with 19 points, followed by Miami in fifth with 14.

Bristow finished sixth with nine points, while Sperry and Oilton were seventh and eighth, respectively, with four and two points, respectively.

The top finishers for the Knights at Monday's regional tournament were Jordan Knox in No. 2 Singles and the duo of Grant Holder and John Ritter in No. 2 Doubles with regional championship medals.

Jordan Osterdock (No. 1 Singles) and Colten Wion and Keaton Lollis (No. 1 Doubles) were regional runner-up at the event for Henryetta.

Osterdock began his regional tournament action with a straight-set victory over Miami's Kenny Burton, not losing a single game to his opening-round opponent.

In semifinal action, Osterdock earned a straight-set win (6-0, 6-1) over Oologah's Daniel Long to guarantee his spot at the state tournament.

In the regional finals, Osterdock suffered a straight-set loss to Regent Prep's Trenton Sullivent, dropping the first set 6-3, then falling in the second set by a 6-2 margin, to finish runner-up at the tournament.

In No. 2 Singles action, Knox earned a bye in the first round, then needed three sets to defeat Skiatook's Ben Seyller in the semifinals. Knox took the first set by a 6-3 margin, then dropped the second set 6-4 to Seyller, setting up the third set, which Knox won by a 7-5 margin to guarantee his spot at the state tournament.

Knox completed his regional championship sweep, defeating Oologah's Cameron Doyle in straight sets - 6-1, 6-0 - in the regional title match.

In No. 1 Doubles action, Wion and Lollis notched a straight-set victory over Oilton's Cardwell and Smith, winning the opening-round match without losing a single game.

The Henryetta duo punched their ticket to this weekend's state tournament with a straight-set (6-0, 7-5) win over Regent Prep's Boshoff and O'Dea in the semifinal round.

Wion and Lollis dropped their regional title match with Oologah's K. Davis and Taylor. The duo took the first set 6-2, then fell in the final two sets - 7-5, 6-2 - to finish as runner-up.

In No. 2 Doubles action, Holder and Ritter received a bye in the first round, then notched back-to-back straight-set wins in their two matches to capture the regional championship.

The Henryetta duo secured their trip to the state tournament by defeating Oologah's B. Davis and Elrod - 6-0, 6-3 - in their semifinal match.

Holder and Ritter completed their regional championship sweep by earning a straigh-set (6-3, 6-2) win over Regent Prep's Anderson and Smith in the regional title match.
