During the April 11 meeting of the Wilson Public Schools Board of Education, Larry Childers was hired as a teacher and football coach for the 2019-2020 school year.
Mary White was hired for OT Occupational Therapy for the 2019-2020 school year.
Theresa Long was hired for PT Physical Therapy for the 2019-2020 school year.
Board members accepted the resignation of Stephanie Lawson and tabled the evaluation of Superintendent Andrea James.
Vickie Wilson of Wilson, Dotson & Associates presented the 20172018 audit. The company was rehired to perform the 2018-2019 audit. The appointment of Dawnyell McKinney as a new board member was tabled with no action. No action was taken regarding the minutes of the Jan. 10 and Feb. 11 regular board meetings. A March 7 Special Board meeting was approved. Monthly financial reports for the Activity and Lunch Funds for March were reviewed and accepted. The monthly treasurer report for March was also accepted. Purchase orders, encumbrances and warrants from the General and Building Funds for the 2018-2019 were approved by board members. Motion was made and approved to accept the Wellness Policy and Tobacco Policy. One sealed bid for buses was opened. Board members did not accept the bid.
