Almost $9,000 in counterfeit money was discovered during a traffic stop late Friday.
Around 9:21 p.m. April 19, Trooper Shiloh Hall was patrolling on Interstate 40, Mile Marker 245, when he clocked a silver Nissan Sentra traveling westbound at a high rate of speed, court documents state.
After the vehicle was stopped, Trooper Hall made contact with the driver identified as Brennon Wadelfalon Hallpassmore, 26, of Sacramento, Calif. The subject did not have a driver’s license, but did have an California ID on his phone. Hallpassmore’s license was determined to be suspended.
Trooper Hall stated he detected an odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle.
The driver allegedly told Hall he and his brothers had left Monday from California to go to Memphis to pick up a female passenger from the airport, and take her to Little Rock to see a friend of theirs.
The car, which was a rental, was occupied by three other persons, identified as Vincent Aaron Davis, 23 of Inglewood, Calif.; Andrew Neal Davis, 26, of Sacramento, Calif.; and Marilyn Murillo, 24, of Chula Vista, Calif.
According to the affidavit, varying stories were given to the officer during the stop. The driver also denied there being anything illegal inside the car.
During a consensual search of the vehicle, the trooper found marijuana residue along with “shake” in various areas of the vehicle, the court record stated.
Murillo, when asked about any illegal currency, turned over bundled cash and “stated that someone gave her fake money,” the affidavit stated.
All four were transported to the Okmulgee County Jail where Trooper Hall was met by a Secret Service agent.
As the investigation continued, the currency was counted and totaled $10,225, of which $8,800 was fraudulent money.
The four suspects are being held on $27,500 bond for complaints of Possession of Forged Notes/Instrument, Possession of Drug Proceeds and Possession of Marijuana.
An initial appearance for all those arrested will be held at 2 p.m. on May 16 in Okmulgee County district court.
