Okmulgee County voters went to the polls on Tuesday for the Board of Education General Election, Municipal General Election and City of Okmulgee Special Election.
Henryetta voters chose Gary Clason over Kyle Clason, 143 votes to 67 votes (68.10% over 31.90%) for unexpired term for Councilmember At Large for the City of Henryetta.
For the City of Okmulgee Proposition that will provide proceeds of the existing sales tax be made available for capital expenditures for public safety for use and benefit of the city, voters approved the proposition, 157 votes (58.15%) to 113 votes (41.85%).
Beggs residents had the choice of three candidates for Councilmember Ward No. 2 for the City of Beggs, O.G. Corky Thompson, Donna Smith and Regina Y. Thompson.
Regina Thompson was chosen with 75 votes (64.10%), compared to Smith with 36 votes (30.77%) and O.G. Corky Thompson with 6 votes (5.13%).
Lewis Gonzales won the Haskell Public Schools Office No. 4 seat with 100% of the votes (four voters) against Sherry Brashear.
For the Tulsa Tech Center District No. 18 Office No. 7 seat, Jim Baker and Tom Trimble, Sr. each received 50% of the votes in Okmulgee County (one vote apiece). Baker won the seat with 1,540 total votes (62.25%) over Trimble with 934 total votes (37.75%).
No votes were cast for the Weleetka Public Schools Office No. 4 seat between Howard Goodnight and Bobbie Sue Joslin within the Okmulgee County precinct. Weleetka voters chose Howard Goodnight with 79 votes (74.53%) over Bobbie Sue Joslin with 27 votes (25.47%).
