MORRIS - The Dewar Lady Dragons came away with a split decision here Tuesday evening.

The Lady Dragons suffered a 13-9 setback to the Berryhill Maidens in their opening contest Tuesday, then rebounded from the loss to defeat the host Morris Lady Eagles by a 19-0 margin in the nightcap to escape with the split.

The Dewar slowpitch softball team began the week Monday, hosting the Kiowa Lady Cowgirls in a battle of ranked teams (Dewar is ranked 12th in 2A; Kiowa is ranked 2nd in A). See 2B for complete details of Monday's home showdown with Kiowa.

The Lady Dragons were back in action Thursday at the Hartshorne Tournament. The Dewar squad's first scheduled game Thursday was 6:45 p.m. in Hartshorne.

After the Hartshorne Tournament, the Lady Dragons will host Class A No. 9 Red Oak Monday, then will travel to Wetumka Tuesday for a showdown with the Wetumka Lady Chieftains.

The Dewar diamond squad will close out next week's schedule with their annual slowpitch softball tournament next Thursday-Saturday.
