During Monday’s meeting of the Okmulgee County Board of Commissioners, the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office has been reimbursed $1,800.30 after a check theft and forgery was discovered. The check in question was stolen from a US Cellular vendor after which the thief somehow removed the printed ink on the ‘To’ line and replaced it with their own name. The bank has since reimbursed the sheriff’s office for the cost of the check.
The county also approved the following agenda items:
• Officers Reports for the month of February - the Assessor’s Office in the amount of $11,619.80 and the County Clerk’s Office in the amount of $22,525.60.
• Blanket Purchase Orders - Morris News for Legal Publications in the amount of $1,000, S&H Auto Care Part and Supplies for District 1 in the amount of $500 and Unifirst Holdings for uniforms for District 1 for $700.
• Employee Acknowledgment Forms - Tammy Padgett from the County Clerk’s Office moving to full time and Kristi Ryan with 911 Communications, ceasing employment.
• Utility Permits - Oklahoma Natural Gas working a pipeline in District 3.
• Private Property Agreements - Lisa Carpenter in District 1 at N. 150 St. disposing of ditch dirt.
• Resolutions to dispose of equipment including the selling of a 2001 Jeep Laredo, a 1991 GMC 1-ton truck with no bed and a 2003 Chevy extended cab ¾ ton pickup and the junking of a Hewlett Packard micro tower computer with monitor, OK Data printer and a Savan laser printer.
• Invitation to Bid #13 to lease purchase 2012 or newer dump truck.
The Resolution and Commercial Lease for vacated Heath Department building in Beggs has been tabled until next week pending further discussion.
