Henryetta FFA Chapter Reporter Allison DeVore was recently selected as an FFA State Finalist in the award area of Agricultural Communications.
Up to three finalists are selected in 47 agricultural proficiency award categories. The state winner in each area will be announced May 1 during the 93rd State FFA Convention held at the Cox Convention Center in Oklahoma City.
Proficiency awards recognize excellence in a supervised agricultural experience program and exceptional accomplishment in progressing toward specific agricultural career objectives.
These awards encourage members to develop specialized skills to apply toward future careers.
Members are recognized for their accomplishments at the local, state and national levels.
The state winner in each area will represent Oklahoma in the national FFA competition this fall in Indianapolis, Indiana.
In addition to receiving a plaque and $1,000 cash award, finalists will enjoy an honors luncheon with their sponsors.
FFA is an integral part of the Agricultural Education division in the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education system. With nearly 27,000 members and 360 chapters, the Oklahoma FFA Association is the fourth-largest state FFA association.
The FFA mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
