Wilson Board hires adjunct teachers

Wilson Public School Board of Education hired two adjunct teachers during their Feb. 11 regular board meeting. Maegan Manns was hired for Yearbook and Donavan Goodno was hired for Health.

Wilson Public School Board of Education hired two adjunct teachers during their Feb. 11 regular board meeting.

Maegan Manns was hired for Yearbook and Donavan Goodno was hired for Health.

Approval of hiring a Superintendent, Secondary Principal and Elementary Principal for the 2019-2020 school year was tabled.

Board members approved opening a position for Head Football Coach for the 2019-2020 school year.

Mentor teacher assignments were made as follows:

• Andrea James, Counselor Mentor Jim Beard;

• Bruce Burton, Science - Mentor Louis Burton;

• Summer Criner, Middle School/High School Math, English, Speech/Drama - Mentor Sherri Freeman.

Vernie Thomas presented board member with an update on facilities, maintenance and a calendar of events.

Minutes of the Jan. 11 regular meeting were tabled.

Financial reports and a monthly treasurer report for January were reviewed and accepted.

Purchase orders/encumbrances and warrants from the General Fund and Building Fund for the fiscal year 2018-2019 were approved.

Board members in attendance were Travis Moore, Thomas Harjo and Dawnyell McKinney. Jimmy Floyd and Pam Gaines were absent. Guests included Vernie Thomas and Lori Edmundson.
