Henryetta Public Works Director Ron Casey announced at the Henryetta Economic Development Authority (HEDA) meeting Feb. 11 that the City of Henryetta was contacted last week by QuikTrip officials.
Casey said QuikTrip is working out logistics with another utility company that is not connected with the city.
“Re-routing utilities should be QuikTrip’s last hurdle before the move along with construction,” Casey said.
“QuikTrip and the City is ready for construction to begin.”
Casey also presented updates on the following City of Henryetta projects:
• Sewer Project – City of Henryetta Council members will be asked to go out on bids for the project. One bid will be from PSO to run power to the property, with an estimated cost of $25,000. Once bids are received, Casey estimates completion within 90 to 120 days.
• Motel Feasability Study – A draft has been received and the city hopes to have a digital or hard copy next week.
• Other – City crews are working on lake road flooding issues. Once issues have been resolved, crews will try to wrap up the bath houses at Nichols Park before the spring.
HEDA reviewed and approved the minutes of the Jan. 14 meeting and January financial report.
Discussion was held regarding the transfer of ownership of property from HEDA to the City of Henryetta at I-40 Exit 237, south of the City of Henryetta, for the purpose of consolidation of adjoining properties. All members approved the transfer.
HEDA members in attendance were Jill Francis, Bruce Jones and Keith Estes. Jennifer Munholland, Jim Beymer and Ron McAfee were unable to attend. Roy Madden recorded the minutes of the meeting.
