Creek Dome to host Class B regional basketball tournament

OKMULGEE - The Mvskoke Dome, at the Claude Cox Omniplex, will serve as one of two main sites for the Class B, Area II, regional basketball tournament this Thursday-Saturday.

The 1,800-seat event center will feature action all three days of the regional tournament.

Thursday's regional tournament action will kick off with girls and boys consolation quarterfinal games at 1:30 and 3 p.m., respectively, followed by winner's bracket semifinal games at 6:30 and 8 p.m., respectively.

The basketball teams that will compete in regional tournament action Thursday at the Mvskoke Dome will be the McCurtain Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs, Copan Hornets and Lady Hornets, Mason Eagles and Lady Eagles, Oaks-Mission Warriors and Lady Warriors, Pittsburg Lady Panthers, South Coffeyville Lady Lions, Braggs Wildcats, and Shidler Tigers.

Thursday's girls consolation quarterfinal matchup will feature Oaks-Mission vs South Coffeyville at 1:30 p.m., while the girls winner's bracket semifinal contest will be between McCurtain and Copan at 6:30 p.m.

Thursday's boys consolation quarterfinal contest will be between Oaks-Mission and Shidler at 3 p.m., while the boys winner's bracket semfinal matchup will feature McCurtain and Copan at 8 p.m.

The two consolation quarterfinal winners will advance to Friday's consolation semifinal games Friday at 6:30 and 8 p.m., respectively, against the loser of Thursday's winner's bracket semifinal games in Varnum - Varnum and New Lima.

Friday's tournament action will get started at 1:30 with a girls consolation semifinal game between the consolation quarterfinal winner at Varnum between Mason and Pittsburg and the loser of Thursday's winner's bracket semifinal game at the Mvskoke Dome.

The first boys consolation game Friday will take place at 3 p.m. between the consolation quarterfinal winner at Varnum between Mason and Braggs and the loser of Thursday's winner's bracket semifinal game at the Mvskoke Dome.

Saturday's tournament action will feature the girls and boys consolation finals at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m., respectively, and the girls and boys regional championship games at 6:30 and 8 p.m., respectively.
