A traffic stop on Interstate 40 resulted in two arrests after marijuana and paraphernalia were discovered in the vehicle.

The arrest happened Feb. 4 at approximately 4:54 p.m. after an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper observed a white Lexus traveling eastbound on the Interstate 40.

According to the affidavit, the officer observed the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed while he was sitting in the center medium.

During the traffic stop the trooper made contact with driver Sergio

Mendiola and requested he provide his driver’s license as part of the stop. Mendiola provided a suspended Georgia driver’s license. There was also a front seat passenger who was later identified as Martina Moore.

According to documentation provided by the trooper at this point in the traffic stop he observed that both driver and passenger were shaking uncontrollably and he detected the smell of marijuana within the vehicle.

When asked if there was anything illegal on his person or within the vehicle, Mendiola stated there was nothing illegal after which the trooper was given permission to search the vehicle Mendiola mentioned there was a little marijuana in the glove box of the vehicle.

After going back to the car, the officer reportedly asked Moore if there was something illegal in the car and was informed that there was something in a suitcase from California but Moore did not know how much there was.

A search of the vehicle yielded a large bag in the glove box containing a bag of 14 grams of marijuana, three bags of THC gummies, three jars of marijuana and a blue bag with marijuana. There was also a THC vial and a smoking device loose in the glove box.Another THC vial attached to a smoking device was located inside Moore’s purse, the court information stated.
