HOLDENVILLE - The Henryetta Lady Knights are currently enjoying a small 2-game winning streak.

The Lady Knights' winning streak began right before the Christmas Break with a thrilling 48-46 victory December 18 at Morris, snapping a 9-game losing streak to their arch rivals.

The Henryetta ladies snared their second-straight win of the 2018-19 season last Friday against the Holdenville Lady Wolverines.

The Lady Knights (2-5) turned a tie ballgame at halftime into a double-digit victory by dominating the host Lady Wolverines on both ends of the court in the second half for the 53-36 decision.

The Henryetta cage squad was back in action on Tuesday with a home meeting with the Oktaha Lady Tigers. Oktaha took the previous meeting December 11 in Oktaha by a 42-39 margin.

Following Tuesday's home battle with Oktaha, the Lady Knights will begin play at the annual Henryetta Invitational Basketball Tournament on Thursday at 11 a.m. against the Eufaula Lady Ironheads.

The annual 3-day event is scheduled to continue through Saturday at the Henryetta Event Center.

In last Friday's second-half opener against Holdenville, the Lady Knights took the opening frame by an 18-15 margin.

Holdenville tied the score at 28-28 at the intermission with a 13-10 advantage in the second stanza.

The Henryetta ladies regained the lead in the third quarter - 43-35 - after outscoring the host Lady Wolverines 15-7 in the period.

A 10-1 advantage in the final eight minutes of regulation provided the Lady Knights with the 53-36 victory and earned the HHS squad their second-straight win after beginning the season with five-consecutive losses.

Lauren Lee led all scorers with a game-high 24 points. Kaylie Hamric was next in the scoring column for Henryetta with 16. Lee and Hamric's scoring totals were season highs for both Lady Knight members.

Kim Fowler finished with seven points for the Henryetta ladies, followed by Darien Christer with three and Jenna Berryhill with two.
