An undercover operation by law enforcement agencies resulted in the seizure of heroin and arrest of a woman.
On Oct. 31, the Okmulgee Police, assisted by the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs as well as the Oklahoma Safe Trails Task Force, conducted an undercover operation. Between two and three ounces of black tar heroin was seized by the conclusion of the operation.
According to Okmulgee Police Chief, Joe Prentice, this is the largest seizure of heroin in Okmulgee County in the nearly 33 years of his career.
Although this is not an enormous amount of seized drugs, according to Chief Prentice, “it shows that heroin is making a bigger appearance in the Okmulgee area after not being prevalent for a long time. The operation is being considered a success and an example of how the agencies in our area work together.”
Arrested was Diana Yadira Olmos-Muniz of Mexico. She is being held without bond in the Okmulgee County Jail on Complaints of Trafficking Controlled Dangerous Substance and Unlawful Delivery of Controlled Dangerous Substance.
She is scheduled for a court appearance on Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. before Judge Pandee Ramirez.
