A huge turnout is projected for the upcoming election which will see a new governor elected. Early voting for the Nov. 6 General Election will begin next Thursday at the Okmulgee County Courthouse. Voters may cast their ballots early on the following days and times:
•Thursday, Nov. 1 - 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
•Friday, Nov. 2 - 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
•Saturday, Nov. 3 - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Okmulgee County Election Board office is located in Room 102 To get citizens acquainted with what’s on the ballot, sample ones are available at the Election Board office.
In Friday’s issue of the Henryetta Free-Lance, a voter’s guide was included containing information from all the state and local candidates, and a synopsis of the State Questions on the ballots.
Applications for absentee ballots must be received by the election board no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 to be processed for the upcoming election.
An online version of the form may be filled out and submitted electronically at www.elections.ok.gov. Any registered voter eligible to vote in the election may vote by absentee ballot without stating a reason.
