Two people are facing drug charges following their arrest by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol last weekend.
Samuel Bryant, 40 was arrested and taken to the Okmulgee County Jail on complaints of Trafficking Meth, Driving Under Influence of Drugs, and Possession of Paraphernalia. His bond was set at $54,000.
A passenger in the vehicle, Misti L. Lee, was arrested and jailed on complaints of Trafficking Meth, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Destroying Property and Possession of Marijuana. Her bond is $57,500.
The arrest stemmed from a stop by an OHPtrooper on the Indian Nation Turnpike southbound at mile marker 104.
According to the court affidavit, the officer pulled over the vehicle for failing to maintain the lane. On making contact with Bryant, the trooper detected the strong odor of marijuana in the car and on the driver. The driver consented to a search of the vehicle. While conducting the search, the passenger, Lee, was found to have several baggies of a white substance which was later tested and found to be meth, weighing about 40 grams. A pipe was also found in the search.
An additional 30 grams of meth was discovered during booking at the Okmulgee County Jail.
Both subjects are due in Okmulgee County district court at 2 p.m. Nov. 1 for an initial appearance.
