Oct. 17 Blood Drive Come give the gift of life, while choosing weather you “Bleed Crimson” or “Bleed Orange,” from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Green Country Technology Center.

Come give the gift of life, while choosing weather you “Bleed Crimson” or “Bleed Orange,” from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at Green Country Technology Center. All donors will get to choose a t-shirt showing their school spirit. Donors who are B+ and O+ are especially in need. Every donation can save three lives.

Oct. 19

Rotary Dance

Henryetta Elementary Students through 5th grade may attend the annual Rotary Dance from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19. There is an admission fee and concession will be available.

Oct. 20

Henryetta Arts and Crafts Fall Bazaar

There will be a Henryetta Arts and Crafts Fall Bazaar from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Sat., Oct. 20, at the First Baptist Church Gymnasium, located at 420 W. Trudgeon. If you would like to be a vendor at the event contact Denise Frost at 918-629-0004.

Blue Goose Day

Celebrate your National Wildlife Refuge at Blue Goose Day from 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Sat., Oct. 20, at Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge. Free and fun for the whole family. Fishing Clinic for ages 0-16.A 3-D archery range will be set up.All equipment will be provided or you can bring your own. Create animal tracks and build bluebird boxes. Participate in the scavenger hunt to win prizes. The Friends of the Deep Fork will be providing lunch. Located at the Montezuma Creek Fishing Area (21680 Hwy 75 Okmulgee, OK 74447). Town Wide Yard Sale

The town of Dewar will be having their Town Wide Yard Sale on Sat., Oct. 20.

Mike Martin Book Presentation

Mike Martin, author of “A Morning in Old Hoffman,” will be having a book presentation at the Church of Christ in Henryetta. The morning will begin with a reception from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. Sat., Oct. 20, with the program following. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend. Immanuel Baptist Fundraiser

Immanuel Baptist Youth will be having a yard sale fundraiser from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at their church located at 805 W. Broadway.

OCGS to Meet

The Okmulgee County Genealogical Society will be holding its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Mon., Oct. 22, at the Okmulgee Public Library. Member, Yona Prater will give a presentation entitled “How to do Genealogy research using Ancestry.com” Everyone is welcomed to attend and please bring a friend. Carnifall at OSUIT

OSUIT will be having their Carnifall from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Covell Hall. There will be inflatables, games, food, candy, and more for all people of all ages to enjoy! Come out and share the spirit of Halloween with them as they unfold this event for all to enjoy! For more information call 918-293-4942.

Oct. 27

Thlopthlocco Fall Festival

Thlopthlocco Tribal Town will be having their Fall Festival/Halloween Bash at the Thlopthlocco Community Building, located next to the Golden Pony Casino, at 6 p.m. Sat., Oct. 27. There will be a cake wall, pumpkin decorating, costume contest, haunted hayride, and more. For more information call 918-560-6198.

Cruise Knight

The next Henryetta Cruise Knight is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Sat. Oct. 27, on Main St. Bring the whole family out for a night of fun.

Dewar First Baptist Fall Festival

Dewar First Baptist Church will be having their Fall Festival Trunk or Treat at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31.

Oct. 31

Main Street Trick or Treat

Henryetta Chamber will be holding their Main Street Trick or Treat from 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31. Bring all you ghosts and goblins to gather their goodies from 3rd St. to 9th St.

Scare on the Square

Okmulgee Main Street and the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce are teaming up to sponsor this year’s Scare on the Square for trick or treaters. The annual downtown trick or treating will be on Wed., Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m. The Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the costume contest in the Jim Newport Pocket Park at 5 p.m. All participating merchants/organizations need to register with Okmulgee Main Street in order to reserve a space and to also be included in all the event’s publicity. PTO’s Monster Bash

The Henryetta PTO will be holding a Halloween Monster Bash Fundraiser on Wed., Oct. 31, during school hours for kids grades P3 – 5th. Times for each grade will be announced at school.

Nov. 8

Dripping Springs Rendezvous

Okmulgee Dripping Springs Lake will host an event sponsored by the Indian Territory Rendezvous Club from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Thurs. through Sat., Nov. 8-10. The event will include reenactors of men and women from the Fur Trade Era, archery, shooting, fire making, tomahawk and knife throwing, and more. For more information call 918-752-4135.

Dec. 8

Christmas Basket Gift Wrapping

The Henryetta Lions Club Christmas Basket gift wrapping will be at the First United Methodist Church at 5:30 p.m. Tues., Dec. 8. Volunteers are needed to help wrap gifts for the children of families who will receive baskets.

On-Going Area Events:

Computer Give Away by PC Memories, Inc.

PC Memories, Inc., a non-profit corporation, donates refurbished desktop computers to low income families with children. Also adults, seniors, and veterans who live in Okmulgee County. We are accepting applications until Oct. 30, 2018. Please visit our website www.okmulgeepc.com.

Al-anon Meetings

Al-anon Family Support Group will meet at 7 p.m., every Tues., at the First Christian Church located at 5th and Cummings.

Monthly VFW Meeting

The Henryetta VFW Post 539 will have a meeting the 1st Tues. of every month. All veterans are encouraged to attend. For more information contact Bill Goodner at 918-652-7103.

Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers meetings are Thurs. evenings with the check in starting at 5:30 p.m. and meetings starting at 6 p.m. at the Tulledega Hills Baptist Church, 3000 W Main.

Lost and Found NA

A non-smoking NA meeting is now available four days each week at the First Christian Church, Okmulgee, on the corner of 8th and Seminole Streets. Meetings will be at 7 p.m. on Mon., Thurs., and Fri. and at 2 p.m. on Sat. Entry is around the back and down the stairs.

Hoffman Fellowship

Hoffman Fellowship is a smoke-free, alcohol-free, and family oriented event. The center is now open on Sat. at 5 p.m. For more information, call Ruby at 918-652-8440.

American Legion Post 85

Monthly meetings for members of the American Legion Post 85 are the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m. Membership is open to all eligible veterans. The American Legion is located at 601 E. Frisco Ave, Henryetta. For information call 918-652-9421.

OSUIT offers Free GED Classes

Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology is offering free GED classes through theirAdult Basic Education program. Classes are on Mon., Tues., and Wed. from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Dewar Indian Community Center and Tues. and Thurs. from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m., at the Henryetta High School Stem Building.
