Henryetta City Council approved closing Nichols Park on Friday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 7 for the Oklahoma Cross Country Racing Association (OCCRA) event at their Special Meeting on Sept. 26.
Henryetta City Council approved closing Nichols Park on Friday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 7 for the Oklahoma Cross Country Racing Association (OCCRA) event at their Special Meeting on Sept. 26.
According to Henryetta Mayor Jennifer Munholland, OCCRA had a change in management and the city has met with them on multiple occasions. OCCRA plans to use the same trails in the woods and thoroughly clean the area once the event concludes.
Board members also approved an agreement between OCCRA and the City of Henryetta in which OCCRA will pay the city a flat rate of $3,000 for the use of Nichols Park.
Properties discussed during the Sept. 25 Henryetta Planning and Zoning Board meeting were announced.
Three Quik Trip properties were approved for rezoning from residential to commercial business status.
A request from a property owner on 4th Street to change the status to commercial was denied by the zoning board.
Cody Bennett requested that he be allowed to demolish his home in the 800 block of West Meacham area in order to place a 2018 double wide mobile home on the lot. Henryetta Zoning Board members approved the request.
City Council members in attendance were Ronnie Duke, Shannon Scott, Mayor Jennifer Munholland and Christy Jeffcoat. Member Janna Duggan arrived to the meeting immediately preceding adjournment. Also attending was City Manager Donna White, Ron Casey and Jody Agee.
