Okmulgee County Fair will be held Thursday, Sept. 6 and continues through Saturday, Sept. 8 with various events available daily.
A special ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the Okmulgee County Fairgrounds today-Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. to kick off the event.
The fair opens at 10 a.m. on Thursday with food judging beginning at 12 p.m. Rabbits and poultry must be in place between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. The Sheep Show and Rabbit & Poultry Show begin at 5 p.m. Final event of the evening will be the Gilt & Barrow Show at 7 p.m.
On Friday, the exhibit hall opens and the commercial cattle grading event begins at 9 a.m. From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., performance steers must be in place. A salad making contest will be held at 4 p.m. The table setting contest starts at 5 p.m. Food judging contest results will be announced at 6 p.m.
Sept. 8 at 8 a.m. all cattle and goats must be in barns for weigh-in. The tractor driving contest starts at 8:30 a.m. and the exhibit hall opens at 9 a.m. From 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Family Fun Festival will be held followed by the Goat Show at 12 p.m. Thirty minutes after the goat show, the Dairy, Beef & Junior Cow & Calf Show begins. At 5 p.m. the Horse Show starts.
