Henryetta senior Bailee Worlow was selected for the 2020 Class 3A All-State Track team. Despite a short season, Worlow not only had strong appearance at the Glenpool Invitational Track Meet earlier in March, but had the PRs throughout her high school career that made her a standout on the Henryetta High School track team.
The Henryetta Knights football program is in full swing, with summer workouts Monday through Thursday focusing on building up a strong team for the 2020 season. Following the second phase in the school’s COVID-19 guidelines, the Knights are focusing on speed and strength workouts in preparation for the upcoming year. Henryetta Football Coach Lance Beck is entering his second year with the Knights, following up a 3-7 debut. See more photos on page B4.
The Beggs Youth Baseball and Softball Association is holding a raffle for half of a hog to raise funds for the program. Tickets are $1 and a winner will be selected through randompicker.com. According to the association, the hog will be ready for pickup the beginning of July and a winner will be announced on the Beggs Youth Baseball and Softball Association’s Facebook page on July 3.
The Okmulgee Junior Football Association, a member of NEOYFA, will be hosting sign-ups Friday, June 26, and Saturday, June 27, at Harmon Stadium. Teams are set up for 2nd through 6th graders with Okmulgee competing against leagues from Bristow, Cushing, Oologah, Perkins and other towns within the NEOYFA league.
The Okmulgee Bulldogs football team took a break from strenuous daily workouts for some fun in the sun. Quarterback Club President Jennifer Foster and other members of the booster club helped set up a slip-n-slide for the players and coaches Friday afternoon following the team’s exercises and drills.
