Norman Forrest “Bud” Horton, Jr.
Norman Forrest “Bud” Horton, Jr., 74, a resident of Dewar, passed away Sunday, February 3, in Dewar. Bud was born July 26, 1944, in Paso Robles, Calif. to Norman Forrest Horton, Sr. and Flossie Jeanetta (Haggard)
Bud proudly served during the Vietnam War in the United States Army. He was a member of the Dewar First Baptist Church.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Horton, Sr. and Jeanetta Horton and by three brothers, James F. Horton, Steven J. Horton, and Michael Horton.
Bud is survived by his wife, Alma Leatta Horton of the home; sons, Christopher Horton and wife Jennifer of Highlandville, Mo., Cody Horton and wife Jessica of Whitehouse, Texas, and Michael George and fiancé Patti of Okmulgee; daughters, Staci Alsover and husband Russell of Henryetta and Rhonda Blackwell and husband Ross of Pierce; 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Kaler and husband Sam of Dewar; brother, Marck Horton of Kansas City, Mo.; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Integrity Funeral Service.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Dewar First Baptist Church where Rev. Jack Vance officiated. Interment followed at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.
Pallbearers were Chase Horton, Gary McGowin II, Chris Horton, Mike George, Cody Horton, and Russell Alsover. Honorary pallbearers were Christopher Horton, Devin George, Nick George, Chad McGowin, Chad Hares, Joseph Horton, and Xander Alsover.
