Tom Sheward

Graveside services for Tom Sheward, 77, resident of Jacksonville, Fla., will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.

Mr. Sheward was born Dec. 28, 1940, in Henryetta to Tom Sheward, Sr. and Leota (Kramer) Sheward. He died Thursday, June 7, in Jacksonville.

A separate funeral service will be Saturday, June 16, at Integrity Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Jacksonville.

Trellis Carol Morris

Trellis Carol Morris, 75, resident of Henryetta, passed from this life on June 9, 2018, in Henryetta. Trellis was born Dec. 16, 1942, in Mangum to Harold Gordon Cotton and Clarette (Wright) Cotton.

Trellis attended school in her early years at Mangum and graduated from City View High School. She married Darrell Morris on Dec. 12, 1960, in Mangum and to this union was born three children, Kenneth, Linda, and Sandy.

Trellis was an excellent cook and loved her flower gardens, especially roses. She was an avid OU Sooners fan and a Thunder fan as well. Trellis enjoyed going to yard sales and caring for her family, but she was extremely proud of being a military wife to Darrell.

Trellis was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Irvin Cotton.

Betty Ladd

Funeral services for Betty Jean Ladd, 82, resident of Henryetta, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at the Rogers Funeral Home Chapel under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ladd was born Jan. 26, 1936, in Henryetta to Bill and Myrtle (Hollins) Brown. She died Sunday, June 10.

Survivors include her two sons, David Brown and Mike Ladd of Henryetta; many grandchildren; and sisters, Ann Owens of Henryetta, Debbie Gorley of Henryetta, Dorothy Fry of Tulsa, and Iva Carter of Henryetta.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Rusty Brown; and daughter, Elizabeth Knauf.

Beulah Marie Owen

Memorial services will be held by family at a later date for Beulah Marie (Marler) Owen, 71, resident of Weleetka. Arrangements are under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.

Mrs. Owen was born Feb. 2, 1947, in Henryetta to Richard Carl Marler and Dora Lorene (Carter) Marler. She died Monday, June 11, in Weleetka.

Survivors include two children, William Carl Owen of Jennings and Margy Ann Owen Belyeu and husband Jody of Henryetta; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; as well as a host of friends and relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two grandchildren, Allen Wayne Carter and Alex Carter; and a sister, Eulah Faye Wells.

June Natell England

June N. England, 57, longtime resident of Hoffman, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, in Okmulgee. June was born Jan. 12, 1961, in Henryetta, to Glenn England and Juanita (Kaler) England.

June grew up in this area and briefly attended school at Liberty Mounds. She worked for over 20 years at Options Recycling Center. June was a deeply loved and longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Hoffman and was an honorary member of the First Baptist Church of Morris. She loved to look at books, thoroughly enjoyed a snack of M&M’s often, and was loved by her family. June was a loving daughter, sister, and aunt. She will be missed by the many people who knew and loved her.

June was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Kaler England; her father, Glenn England; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.

Harles James Underwood

Harles James Underwood, 91, a longtime resident of Schulter, passed away on Wednesday, May 30, at his home in Schulter. Harles was born April 9, 1927, in Colton to Joe S. Underwood and Hattie Green Underwood.

Harles grew up in the Schulter area. Following his high school years, he attended Okmulgee Tech for further studies. Harles worked most of his adult life as an aircraft mechanic. He worked for over nine years at Douglas Aircraft and later worked for 28 years with Rockwell International before his retirement.

Harles married the love of his life, Judy Dale Huckaba on May 6, 1957, in Walker County, Georgia. They remained happily married for 50 years until Judy’s death in 2007.

Joan Wilhite

Joan (Brown) Wilhite, 83, resident of Henryetta, passed away Saturday, June 2, in Henryetta.

Joan was born Sept. 24, 1934, in Tiger Mountain to Joe Wheeler Brown and Flora (Palmer) Brown. Joan was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Bob Wilhite; son, Randal Wilhite; brothers, Carl, Robert, Murl, and Jim Brown; and sister, Faye Parker.

Joan is survived by her daughters, Gayle Sisson and husband Randy of Henryetta and Brenda Wilhite of Henryetta; sons, Steven Wilhite and wife Kathy of Henryetta and David Wilhite and wife Angela of Henryetta; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation was from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, and will be from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, with family present to greet friends from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Integrity Funeral Service.

Evelyn Brown

Evelyn Brown, 79, longtime resident of the Dewar-Bartlett area passed away Saturday, June 2, in Tulsa. Evelyn was born Aug. 12, 1938, in Clinton, Ark. to Chester Tarkington and Tennie Pauline (Davis) Tarkington.

Evelyn married William “Bill” Brown on March 12, 1952, in Heber Springs, Ark. and to this union three children were born, Vicky, Billy, and Rusty. She was a member of the Dewar First Baptist Church for many years. Evelyn worked for 38 years at Dewar Schools in the cafeteria, as school librarian, and also as elementary school secretary. She invested a great deal in the Dewar community and her “Dewar kids”. Evelyn was known by many of the “Dewar kids” either as Mom or mostly “Granny Ev”.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ricky D. Tarkington Sr.; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Tarkington.

Dorothy Fay Dearman

Funeral services for Dorothy Faye (Sellers) Dearman, 74, resident of Henryetta, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Jeremy Dearman officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Okemah under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service.

Visitation was from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, and will be from 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at Integrity Funeral Service.

Mrs. Dearman was born Jan. 6, 1944, in Okemah to Bill Sellers and Loney Chapples. She died Saturday, June 2, in Henryetta.

Charles Conatser

Charles Conatser, 77, resident of rural Henryetta, passed this life at home on Monday, May 28. Charles was born March 21, 1941, in Henryetta to Ruth and Tommy Conatser.

Charles graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic School. He served his country during the Vietnam War. During his 20 years of service, Charles was on air craft carriers, the Ranger, the Constellation, and the Enterprise. He lived in San Diego, Calif. where he was a member of the Bass Club and also a member of the 4x4 club. After his retirement from the Navy, he moved back to Henryetta. He loved to Bass fish and loved all his dogs.

Charles married Barbara Hale in 1962. They were married 56 years. Charles was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Cathy Conatser Hall; and best friend, Bob McGhee.
