Jack Stephens

Jack Lynn Stephens, 68, longtime resident of Henryetta, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 4, in Henryetta. Jack was born Feb. 19, 1950, in Henryetta to Thurman Leon Stephens and Lureatha Locke Stephens.

Jack grew up in Henryetta and attended Henryetta Public Schools, graduating from Henryetta High School with the class of 1968. He served for approximately six years in the Oklahoma National Guard following high school. Also following high school, Jack attended college for several years at Northeastern Oklahoma State University. He worked in a drafting firm in Tulsa for a period of time with his uncle. Jack spent the majority of his career working with Braden Wench in Okmulgee, where he retired with over 20 years of faithful service.

Jack was baptized at the First Christian Church in Henryetta. He was an accomplished musician and played guitar in several bands. Jack loved attending car shows and swap meets in his search for collectibles. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, but everyone knew his biggest love was his faithful dog, Chopper. Jack was a loving son, brother, and uncle. He will be missed by his many friends and family.

Jack was preceded in death by his mother and father and his sister, Janie Stephens.

Jack is survived by a brother, David Stephens and wife Judy of Wichita Falls, Texas; sister, Kathie Barone and husband Alberto of Whitby, Ontario Canada; nephews, Bryan Stephens and wife Trudy of Little River, Kan. and Ray Stephens and wife Tryna of Jenks; six great nieces and nephews; two uncles, Fred Locke and wife Delores of Okmulgee and Ted Locke and wife Freda of Texas; an aunt, Phyllis Stephens of Dewar; as well as other extended family and many good friends.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Integrity Chapel with Rev. Sharla Stephenson officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Westlawn Cemetery under the direction of Integrity Funeral Service. Jack’s hot rod friends are invited to drive their hot rods to lead the procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Stephens, Ray Stephens, Christopher Stephens, Aberto Barone, Brandon England, Roger Titsworth, Steve Davenport, and Toby Titsworth.
