Henryetta Rotary Club held their weekly meeting on Aug. 1 at The Shack on Main Street.

Rotarian of the week was Teri Thompson who presented her special guest, Brad Sellers, son of former Henryetta dentist, Floyd Sellers.

Brad introduced his family members in attendance including his wife, Monika, and their three daughters, Ann-Sophie, Marie-Noelle and Madeleine; his father and mother, Floyd and Ann Sellers; and his sister, Sue Ann Sellers and her daughter, Sailor.

A special slide show presentation was given by Brad about South Tyrol in Italy.

If everything works out, Brad plans on teaching adults how to speak English in the town of Bozen in Italy.  About two weeks ago, he said he obtained a certificate in order to teach.

He, his wife and daughters, will be moving to a small village in the South Tyrol area near Bozen and Sterzing.

Breathtaking and unique pictures of the paradisal landscape and architecture of the South Tyrol area of Italy were presented in the slide show.

Brad said that all three of his daughters as well as his wife were all born in Sterzing.

A fun fact was told about the making of the movie, “National Lampoon’s European Vacation.” Brad said that the movie was actually filmed in the South Tyrol area because of the amazing architecture.

Some Rotary members and guests were in agreement about wanting to visit the area for a vacation after watching the slideshow.

Brad said that his wife and his daughters speak German primarily and English secondary. He said that he speaks English, but can recognize some signs and some of the language.

Everyone attending the meeting had a great time and enjoyed meeting and visiting with the entire Sellers family as well as viewing the special presentation.
