According to an article released by TIME’s Money section editors, Yelp reviewers chose their favorite barbecue joint in every U.S. state and Rustler’s BBQ in Henryetta won unanimously in Oklahoma!

Some of the Yelp reviews include:
“This is a hidden jewel in the little town of Henryetta. It is worth stopping for or making it your destination. The barbeque is the best I have ever had. My favorite is the chicken with the hot sauce. The decor is awesome and the service excellent. I live in Arizona but will definitely be back,” Judi H. said.

“This is a family run restaurant that is a must stop by and try! The brisket is tender. The pulled pork is so yummeeeee. The coleslaw is awesome!!! The owner came by, said hello and wanted a real opinion of his food! It was great! Wish the restaurant was in California as I’d be here all the time! And the girls passed out the brownies! So double yummeeee!” Peggy C. of California said.

There are many other amazing reviews from across Oklahoma to Texas to Arkansas to Virginia – all around the U.S.

In addition, the Okmulgee County Restaurant Reviews group on Facebook recently closed a poll for the best BBQ in the county. Facebook voters united and chose Rustler’s as the Best BBQ in the county.

Other BBQ businesses listed on the Facebook poll included House of Smoke, Harvey Q’s, TNK, Boss n Hog, Mother Tuckers, Ike & Emmas, OneFire Casino, Twin Hills Plaza and Celestine’s BBQ.

According to Rustler’s BBQ owner, Steve Sanford, it all started with reviews from two customers from California (Michael Foster and Barry Paul) who were passing through Oklahoma on their way to a funeral in Mississippi. They gave great reviews and Rustler’s popularity grew.

“I am so proud and excited to receive this honor. It’s really a big deal and I feel like we’re on a roll!” Sanford said.

Sanford also mentioned that KOCO News 5 held their own viewer poll that asked Facebook users to decide their top five favorite BBQ spots in Oklahoma. And Rustler’s BBQ was among viewer favorites!

Other places on the top five included The Butcher BBQ in Wellston, Papa’s Barbecue in Okemah, Texlahoma BBQ in Edmond and Bad Brad’s BBQ in Yukon.

News of Rustler’s honor of being named the Best BBQ spot doesn’t come at a better time as the business just celebrated two years of being in operation.

In May 2016, Rustler’s BBQ opened it’s doors at 806 E. Industrial Street here in Henryetta offering a delicious menu complete with hand-selected meats.
