Volunteers honor Veterans for Memorial Day

Henryetta Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 539, VFW Auxiliary, the local Boy Scouts troop and other volunteers spent Saturday placing over 2,000 American flags at veterans graves at Westlawn Cemetery, New Sonora, Salem Cemetery, Wilson Cemetery and another cemetery just south of Pharoah. VFW held the annual Memorial Day service on Monday at Westlawn Cemetery. Post 539 Commander Bill Goodner is pictured above with the vast number of flags at the new VFW Post 539 building.
