Knights send trio to state powerlifting meet

ANTLERS - Three Henryetta high school athletes punched their ticket to the state powerlifting meet this Saturday in El Reno with Top 5 finishes at last Saturday's regional meet.

The three lifters that will represent HHS at this Saturday's state powerlifting meet are senior Kobe Johnson, freshman Dylan Bain, and junior Jordan Proctor-Hart.

Sophomores Weston Thomas, Austin Gouge, and Cameron Slyconish also competed for the Knights at regionals, but just missed qualifying for the state meet.

"Great effort by all lifters today," said Henryetta head football coach Darin Johnson. "We are extremely proud of them all."

Bain finished fifth in the 132-pound weight class at last Saturday's regional meet with a total lift of 780 pounds.

Johnson and Proctor-Hart each finished third in their respective weight classes at the meet.

Johnson was third at 145 lbs. with a total lift of 810 pounds, while Proctor-Hart was third in the 168-pound weight class with a total lift of 1,075 pounds.

Thomas finished with a total lift of 935 pounds in the 220-pound weight class.

Slyconish recorded a lift total of 965 pounds in the 242-pound weight class.

Gouge finished with a total lift of 1,075 pounds in the 275-pound weight class.

Despite not qualifying for Saturday's state powerlifting meet, Thomas, Slyconish, and Gouge did record several personal best lifts during the regional meet.
