The Henryetta Veterans of Foreign Wars post is installing new signs on the new building.

There are three signs being installed. One will be on the front of the building near the front door, and the other two will be on the east and west sides of the building.

It is hoped that these new signs will increase viability of the building and will grow interest in the VFW.

Last year, the old Henryetta health department building was rented for use as a new VFW post.

Since then, members of the organization have been working hard to get the new building fixed up and ready for use.

Along with installing the new signs, there have been several improvements inside the building including a pool table and dominoes tables.

“We're trying to give veterans a place to go so they don't just stay at home and stew in their own thoughts,” Post Commander Bill Goodner said.

The next improvements planned are to get a coffee maker set up in the main room and to get the kitchen up and running.

The VFW has also increased the amount of medical equipment they have available to lend out to those who need it.
