Fall is here.

The Town of Dewar celebrated the season's arrival over the weekend with the annual Dewar Harvest Festival. The event included face painting, bounce houses, vendors, crafts, food and games.

To kick off the event, children were invited to compete in the traditional Dewar Harvest Pageant Saturday morning.

Judges selected four-year-old MaryAnn Bear as the 2017 harvest queen, which was the highest title received at the pageant.

Bear is the daughter of Bobby and Jessica Bear. Her grandparents are John Scott, Cynthia Szulborski and Daniel and Melissa Bear.

Bear enjoys playing with baby dolls and loves shoes. She hates when she is not allowed to receive new shoes.

At the pageant, Bear wore a white and yellow dress with sunflowers.

Queens crowned in other categories include Paisley Turner (0-24 month), Raina Been (25-47 months) and Michael Gryder (4-7 years).

Turner is the daughter of Jake and Kristan Turner.

Her grandparents are Michelle Langley, Rodney Summers, Shelly Turner and Don and Wendy Turner.

Been is the daughter of Kiersten and Josh Been.

Her grandparents are John and Jackie Been, and Jeff and Charlene January.

Been enjoys riding on four-wheelers, swimming, playing with her big sister and watching “Paw Patrol.” She dislikes having her hair brushed, waking up early and bugs.

Gryder is the daughter of Brandon and Sammijo Gryder.

Her grandparents are Randy and Wayna Gryder, Art and Melody Erbes, Bobbye Frye and Curly Rhine.

Gryder enjoys reading books, playing on the tablet and going hunting. She hates cleaning her room.

Gryder wore a sapphire blue cupcake dress at the pageant.

After the queens were crowned, two princess titles were given to Kamry Bullard and Isabella Ryals, both in the 0-24 month category.

Bullard is the daughter of Shelby Britt and Michael Bullard.

Her grandparents are Dona Freddie Davis, Richey Britt, Angie Puttman and LeRoy and Tamara Bullard.

Bullard likes dancing, playing with her three older brothers and going fishing with her daddy. She does not enjoy being told “no” or nap time.

At the pageant, Bullard was dressed in a fall tutu dress with a flower in the middle, and a matching hair bow and barefoot sandals.

Ryals is the daughter of Anthony and Brittanie Ryals.

Her grandparents are Mike and Carla Ryals.
