Lady Knights fall in Monday doubleheader
By PATRICK FORD Editor,

The Henryetta Lady Knights dropped both games in a doubleheader Monday against Mc-Loud and Deer Creek.

In the first game of the day, Henryetta showed early promise and strong offensive execution but were unable to keep pace with a powerful McLoud lineup in a 16-6 loss.

Henryetta wasted no time getting on the board, plating two runs in the opening inning. Ailanee Hicks sparked the offense with a double to center field, followed by an RBI single from Hailey Lewis to give the Lady Knights an early 2-0 advantage. An error in the second inning helped Henryetta extend the lead to 3-1, but McLoud quickly answered.

The Lady Redskins surged ahead in the bottom of the second inning, using timely hitting from Fixico and Miley Hicklin – both delivering doubles – to take a 5-3 lead. Henryetta battled back to tie the game in the third, as Lewis delivered again at the plate and defensive miscues by McLoud helped even the score.

However, McLoud regained control in the bottom of the third and never looked back. The Lady Redskins strung together multiple hits, including key RBI efforts from Ashley, Avery Soward and Fixico, to build a comfortable cushion.

A seven-run fifth inning by McLoud sealed the outcome, highlighted by a barrage of hits and capitalizing on Henryetta errors.

Despite the loss, Hicks delivered a flawless performance at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and two singles. Lewis and Lexi Greenhaw each drove in two runs, while Keegan Hamric added a pair of hits.

Hamric also took the loss in the circle, pitching 4 1/3 innings while allowing 16 runs (nine earned) on 13 hits.

McLoud finished with 13 hits, led by Fixico’s 3-for-3 effort and four RBIs. The Lady Redskins also turned two double plays defensively.

— Lady Knights fall to ranked 6A squad A competitive effort through three innings unraveled quickly for the Henryetta Lady Knights as Deer Creek erupted for 11 runs in the fourth inning en route to an 18-6 win Monday.

Henryetta struck first in the second inning when Jayleigh Easter singled to bring home a run. Deer Creek answered immediately, exploding for seven runs in the bottom half of the inning to seize control of the game.

Refusing to back down, the Lady Knights mounted an impressive rally in the third inning, scoring five runs on seven hits. Ailanee Hicks and Keegan Hamric each delivered doubles, while Easter and Jordyn Goodman added RBI singles to briefly swing momentum back in Henryetta’s favor.

But Deer Creek responded with overwhelming force in the fourth inning, tallying 11 runs on seven hits while also benefiting from defensive miscues. The offensive onslaught included multiple RBI singles from Reagan Lykes, Kennedi Kernell, Avery Briggs, Kimber Duval and Makalyn Hamilton.

Henryetta collected 11 hits in the contest, with Lexi Greenhaw, Easter and Serenity Rex each recording two hits. Hicks and Easter led the team with two RBIs apiece.

Hamric took the loss, pitching 3 2/3 innings while allowing 18 runs (nine earned) on 17 hits.

Deer Creek finished with 17 hits, led by three-hit performances from Hamilton and Duval. The Antlers showed discipline at the plate with seven walks and played flawless defense, committing no errors.
