OSU Extension recognizes 4-H members who made premium sale
By TIFFANY BELL SPECIAL TO THE TIMES, ELLA COX OSU EXTENSION,

Okmulgee County 4-H members recently showed their hard work and dedication at both the Okmulgee County Spring Livestock Show and the Muskogee Regional Livestock Show. These events represent months of preparation, commitment and responsibility for our youth exhibitors. While we are extremely proud of every 4-H member who competed, we would like to take this opportunity to recognize those individuals who earned a spot in the premium sale line up at the County level and Regional level.

Livestock projects require early mornings, late evenings, daily feeding and care, record keeping and a strong sense of responsibility. Through these projects, 4-H members develop not only agricultural knowledge but also leadership, communication skills, time management, sportsmanship and perseverance. Making the sale is a significant accomplishment and reflects the hard work these 4-H members have invested throughout the year.

The following Okmulgee County 4-H members made the sale at the county level:

• Taylin Davis – Doe Goat

• Roger Potter – Fancy Poultry

• Hayden Sullins – Fancy Rabbit

• Jace Dixon – Market Steer

• Kord Groves – Commercial Heifer

• Carmun Scott – Market Steer

• Wilson 4-H Member – Heifer

• Andrea Smith – Market Steer

• Cale Boydston – Meat Rabbit Pen

• Stormi Bible – Market Goat

• Layla Lee – Breeding Gilt

• Cash Stotler – Doe Goat

• Grant Harvey – Market Hog The following Okmulgee County 4-H members made the sale at the regional level:

• Stormi Bible – Market Goat

• Layla Lee – Gilt

• Elli Lewis – Market Lamb

• Caden Richter – Heifer

• Andrea Smith – Market Steer We are incredibly proud of these exhibitors and the dedication they have shown. Their success is supported by families, volunteers, agricultural educators and community members who continue to invest in the growth of our youth, and we are truly grateful for that support.

While making the sale is a tremendous accomplishment, we are proud of every 4-H member who participated in these events. They each have gained valuable life skills that extend far beyond the show ring. Congratulations to all who represented Okmulgee County 4-H.

If you are interested in joining 4-H, please contact the Okmulgee County Extension Office at 918-756-1958. 4-H offers a wide variety of opportunities for youth, including agricultural projects as well as many non-agriculture activities. There is truly something for every young person to explore, learn and grow through 4-H.
