Tigers sweep weekend with wins over Okmulgee, Beggs

The Wilson Tigers put together an impressive weekend on the hardwood, earning back-to-back victories over Okmulgee on Friday night and Beggs on Saturday, using balanced scoring, defensive pressure and steady execution to control both contests from start to finish.

The Lady Tigers also notched a pair of wins, defeating Okmulgee 52-35 and Beggs 47-39.

— Wilson tops Bulldogs in dominant fashion Wilson opened the weekend with a convincing 80-49 win over county rival Okmulgee, pulling away after halftime to secure the decisive victory.

The Tigers and Bulldogs traded punches early, with Okmulgee holding a narrow edge after the opening quarter. Wilson responded in the second period, tightening up defensively and beginning to find rhythm offensively. After the break, Wilson took full command of the game, outscoring Okmulgee in both the third and fourth quarters to turn a competitive matchup into a runaway win.

Wilson’s offense featured production across the lineup, with five players finishing in double figures.

Wilson’s defensive effort proved to be the difference in the second half, limiting Okmulgee’s scoring opportunities while continuing to push the tempo offensively.
