HPS bond election nears

Henryetta residents who wish to take part in the upcoming Henryetta Public Schools No Tax Increase School Bond Election are reminded that the voter registration deadline is Friday, Jan. 16.

The school bond election is scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 10, and only registered voters who live within the Henryetta school district will be eligible to cast a ballot. Anyone who is not currently registered must complete the voter registration process by the Jan. 16 deadline in order to participate.

To be eligible to register to vote in Oklahoma, individuals must be:

• A United States citizen

• A resident of the State of Oklahoma

• At least 18 years old Additional eligibility requirements may apply for individuals with felony convictions, and voters are encouraged to review the detailed information provided on official election materials.

Voters have several options to complete their registration: Online Registration Residents may register online by visiting okvoterportal.okelections.gov or by scanning the QR code included on the official voter information sheets.

Those with a current, valid Oklahoma driver’s license and a digital signature on file with Service Oklahoma (such as through a tag office) may submit their voter registration entirely online.

-Paper Registration For those who do not meet the requirements for online registration, a paper voter registration application may be completed and mailed to: Oklahoma State Election Board PO Box 53156 Oklahoma City, OK 73152 Applications must be postmarked by Jan. 16.

Completed applications may also be hand-delivered to the Okmulgee County Election Board, 314 W. 7th Street in Okmulgee, by Jan. 16.

– Additional Assistance Available Voters who have questions or need help navigating the registration process can find guidance on the Oklahoma State Election Board website or contact the Okmulgee County Election Board office directly. Election officials are available to assist residents with registration requirements and eligibility questions.

Copies of the voter registration application and accompanying informational materials will also be made available for reference.
