Okmulgee to hold ‘Christmas on the Square event Dec. 3-7

For the first time, downtown will transform into a dazzling winter wonderland as the Okmulgee Area Chamber of Commerce and Okmulgee Main Street team up to host Christmas on the Square, coming Dec. 3-7.

Organizers say this brand-new event will bring the magic of the holidays to life with lights, music, vendors and plenty of community cheer – all centered around the city’s historic downtown square.

“This is something our community has dreamed about for a long time,” Chamber representatives shared. “It’s time to bring Christmas to downtown Okmulgee in a big way and create a celebration that families will look forward to year after year.”

— A Festive New Tradition Christmas on the Square is envisioned as a five-day holiday village experience. Visitors can expect festive lights strung along historic buildings, the sound of carols and seasonal tunes drifting through the air and booths filled with holiday crafts, treats and gifts from local artisans and small businesses.

The event is designed to become a new Okmulgee holiday tradition – a place where families gather, friends reconnect, and visitors experience the charm of the city during the most wonderful time of the year.

— Vendors Wanted: Be Part of the Magic Local entrepreneurs and community groups are invited to help create this inaugural celebration by signing up as vendors. Booths will line the square, adding to the festive atmosphere while showcasing a wide range of handcrafted items, food, art and seasonal specialties.

• Event Dates: Dec. 3-7

• Vendor Fee: $250 flat fee (covers all five days)

• Payment Options: Cash or check

• Deadline to Apply: Nov. 21

• Bonus: Vendors who also participate in Beggs Jingle Bell Day on Dec. 13 will receive a $50 reimbursement Vendor forms are available through the Chamber of Commerce and must be submitted with payment to reserve a space. Complete sales tax documentation will be provided at the time of booth confirmation. Vendors are required to remain open during event hours for each day of the celebration.

By signing up, participants acknowledge the Okmulgee Chamber of Commerce, Okmulgee Main Street and the City of Okmulgee are not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged products during the event.

— How to Register

Vendors can download or pick up the official 2025 Vendor Sign-Up Form and return it to: Okmulgee Area Chamber of Commerce 112 N. Morton Ave., Okmulgee, OK 74447 executivedirector@okmulgeechamber. org 918-756-6172 All forms and fees must be received by Friday, Nov. 21.

— A Community Collaboration

Christmas on the Square represents a growing partnership between the Okmulgee Chamber and Okmulgee Main Street – two organizations dedicated to revitalizing the city’s downtown and supporting local businesses.

Together, they’re working to establish an event that not only spreads holiday joy but also drives economic activity and civic pride. The multi-day format is expected to attract visitors from across the region, offering opportunities for local vendors, restaurants and retailers to benefit from the influx of shoppers and holiday tourists.

— Bringing Christmas Downtown The Chamber and Main Street leaders are calling on residents, volunteers and business owners to join the excitement and help make history as Okmulgee lights up for its first-ever Christmas on the Square.

From the sparkle of lights and the sound of festive carols to the aroma of fresh cocoa and cinnamon treats, organizers say the event will capture the true spirit of Christmas – right in the heart of Okmulgee.

So mark your calendars and get ready – Christmas on the Square is coming to downtown Okmulgee, and this year, the holiday magic begins right here at home.
