The Henryetta Lions Club is embracing the digital age this holiday season by introducing an online application option for its long-standing Christmas Basket Program, a community effort that provides food and gifts to local families in need.
“This year, we’re bringing our Christmas Basket program into the 21st century,” the club announced, as the new system aims to simplify the process for returning recipients while maintaining the same personal care and local focus that have defined the program for decades.
For the first time, individuals who received a Christmas Basket last year will have the convenience ofapplyingonline through a secure form at https://form.jotform. com/253016273955055.
Returning applicants simply need to use the same phone number they provided in last year’s registration to access the system. Because these recipients already have documentation on file, they can reapply without needing to attend in person.
The Lions Club emphasized that this digital step is intended to streamline the process – making it quicker and easier for returning families while helping volunteers manage applications more efficiently.
Additionally, four households that received one-time phone exceptions last year have been reminded that beginning in 2025, they will be required to apply in person like all new applicants.
— In-Person Sign-Ups for New Applicants Families who did not receive a basket last year must apply in person to establish eligibility. The in-person registration will take place Monday, Nov. 17, from 1-5 p.m. at the First Family Federal Credit Union Briefcase Building, 313 W. Main Street in Henryetta.
New applicants should bring the following documentation: • Photo ID
• Proof of residence (such as a recent utility bill or lease)
• Proof of guardianship for each child age 13 or younger For those who may not be comfortable navigating the online form, Lions Club members will be on hand during the registration day to offer help or walk applicants through the process.
The club expressed heartfelt gratitude to Henryetta residents and neighboring communities for their continued generosity and partnership.
