An early-morning hit-and-run collision on U.S. Highway 75 in Okmulgee County left a Morris man injured Saturday, according to a preliminary report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP).
The collision occurred at approximately 5:02 a.m. on October 25 near U.S. 75 and 221st Street. Troopers say the pedestrian, identified as 46-year-old George Collins Dunn, Jr. of Morris, was near the roadway when he was struck by a passing truck.
According to the OHP report, the victim was allegedly under the influence at the time of the incident. The truck involved left the scene and no description of the vehicle or driver has been confirmed.
Dunn sustained injuries to his right leg but survived the crash. He was the only person involved and no passengers were present, the report states. Next of kin has been notified.
