• A potentially significant identity theft incident was averted by the prompt actions of Police Chief and pee-wee football coach Steve Norman, his team of students and their parents. During a practice session on school grounds, the pee-wee football team discovered a collection of sensitive documents. They immediately informed their parents, who, alongside Coach Norman, promptly secured the papers. Law enforcement was subsequently contacted to ensure the proper disposal of the documents, which contained personal information including disciplinary reports, test scores, birth certificates and copies of social security cards. The origin of these documents in the disposal pile remained undetermined.

• Students at Henryetta Schools observed National Bullying Prevention Month by adorning the hallways and classrooms with blue shirts. Everyone involved was encouraged to help raise awareness about current bullying issues affecting students.

• The Mayor of Henryetta, acting on behalf of the city’s citizens, was authorized and directed by the Henryetta City Council to expedite the preparation and submission of a grant application for financial assistance from the Rural Economic Assistance Plan Fund. A crucial responsibility, highlighting the community’s collective desire for progress and the strategic importance of securing these funds for the city’s future prosperity.
