MHS announces 2025 color guard tryouts

Morris High School is inviting students in grades 8 through 12 to try out for the 2025 color guard team. Whether a student is brand new to color guard or already has experience, all are encouraged to participate in this exciting opportunity to become part of a high-energy performance group.

To help prepare interested students, two spin clinics will be held July 2526, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the Morris Elementary School Gym. These clinics will focus on the foundational skills of color guard, including flag technique, basic choreography and performance readiness.

Tryouts for the 2025 team are scheduled for July 28-29, also from 5-7:30 p.m., at the same location. Participation in the clinics is recommended but not required to audition.

The program welcomes students of all skill levels and emphasizes team spirit, dedication and school pride. Color guard members perform with the Morris High School band during football season and various other school and community events throughout the year.

Students or families with questions are encouraged to reach out to Sarah Stoffels, Director of Bands, at sstoffels. morrisschools.net or Anna Baxter, color guard staff, at AnnaBaxter2405@ gmail.com. With no experience necessary, this is a great chance for students to try something new and join a spirited and supportive team representing Morris High School.
