Free-Lance’s Ugly Recliner Contest underway

As Father’s Day approaches, families everywhere are preparing to celebrate the special men in their lives. This year, the Okmulgee Times and Henryetta Free-Lance are adding a unique twist to the festivities with our Ugly Recliner Contest! Do you think your dad’s recliner is the ugliest around? If so, we want to hear from you!

— How to Enter

To participate, simply snap a photo of your dad’s less-than-lovely recliner and email it to katina@ cookson.news by Wednesday, May 28, or bring it by the office at 320 W. 6th Street in downtown Ok- mulgee. Facebook submissions will not be entered. Be sure to include your name and contact information along with a brief description of why your dad’s recliner deserves the “ugliest” title.

— Voting Details

Once submissions are in, voting will kick off on Friday, May 30. Friends, family and the community will have the chance to cast their votes for the most unsightly recliner on Facebook and with the voting form published in the paper until Tuesday, June 10. Make sure to rally support and encourage everyone you know to vote for your entry.

— The Grand Prize

The winner, who will be announced on Wednesday, June 11, will receive a fabulous new recliner courtesy of Burnett’s Furniture in Henryetta. It’s the perfect opportunity to give your dad the Father’s Day gift he never knew he needed – a stylish, comfortable upgrade from his current seating arrangement.

Whether your dad’s recliner is a threadbare eyesore, a relic of questionable color schemes or simply a mismatch to your living room décor, this contest is all in good fun and the perfect way to show your dad some love. So, dust off those cameras and get ready to prove that your dad’s chair is the ugliest of them all!

Submit your photos today and let the best (or worst) recliner win!
