— Board of County Commissioners Meeting
• Attended the regular meeting of the Board of County Commissioners to provide updates on current emergency management activities and ongoing flood response efforts.
— Flood Monitoring & Response
• Actively monitored flooding conditions throughout the county due to recent heavy rainfall.
• Coordinated with local public works and law enforcement to assess and respond to flood-impacted areas.
• Assisted with the closure of multiple roads due to flood damage to ensure public safety and prevent further damage.
— Damage Assessment • Collaborated with the Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management to conduct preliminary damage assessments (PDAs) across the county.
• Collected and documented flood damage data necessary to support a potential federal disaster declaration request. — Training
• Participated in the Floodplain Management Intermediate Training held in Oklahoma City to enhance knowledge and ensure compliance with current floodplain regulations and best practices.
— Community Engagement
• Met with three county residents to provide guidance and information regarding building requirements and restrictions within designated floodplain areas.
• Discussed permitting processes, flood risk and mitigation measures to ensure safe and compliant development.
