OCEM Report

This report is a summary of key activities and does not include all activities completed by Emergency Management.

— Meetings & Training

• Attended the Board of County Commissioners Meeting to provide updates on ongoing emergency management activities and discuss flood response efforts.

• Participated in a virtual Floodplain Management Training to ensure continued compliance with state and federal floodplain regulations.

• Completed the ODOT Certified Drug Screen Training as part of ongoing certification and compliance requirements.

— Flood Monitoring & Public Engagement

• Continued active monitoring of flood conditions and roadway damages resulting from excessive rainfall across the county.

• Met with residents and Commissioner Ward at Gun Club Road and Mission Lane to assess localized flooding concerns and issues with water drainage and stagnation.

• Received and responded to 13 floodplain-related inquiries regarding property purchases:

• 5 inquiries in District 1

• 8 inquiries in District 3 All inquiries were from potential buyers requesting floodplain status and risk information.

— Resource & Equipment Management • Purchased a 6’ x 12’ enclosed trailer to enhance Disaster Response capabilities.

• The trailer will also be utilized to transport traffic cones and barricades for road closures during flood events and traffic incidents. — Incident Response

• Responded to a significant motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Highway 62 and the Loop, involving a septic pump truck that left the roadway and entered a creek. Emergency management assisted in coordinating response and mitigation efforts.

— Volunteer Coordination • Conducted the regularly scheduled Monthly Volunteer Meeting to review recent operations, provide training updates and plan for future emergency response activities.

— Outdoor Warning Siren Project • Received phone call from FEMA regarding one storm siren location to confirm its exact location due to the proximity to the floodplain. Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality approved all site locations with no impact to the area where the sirens will be placed.
