Despite leading by as many as four runs, the Dewar Lady Dragons fell to the Vanoss Lady Wolves 7-6 on Tuesday.
Dewar lost despite out-hitting Vanoss 14-8. Bre Harvell, Alyssa Baughman, Cali Thomason and Peyton Farrow each collected two hits for the Lady Dragons.
Dewar opened the scoring in the bottom of the second thanks to four singles. The Lady Dragons first got on the board when Farrow singled, scoring one run.
In the top of the fourth inning, Vanoss went back into the lead after Avery Wilson singled to center field, Harper Miller doubled to center field, Vaeh Pierce grounded into a fielder’s choice and Quinn Hood singled, each scoring one run.
Dewar collected 14 hits in the game. Harvell went 2-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. The Lady Dragons turned one double play in the game.
Kaydence Griffin led Vanoss with two hits in three at bats. Vaeh Pierce, Dalli Carlos, Hood, Miller and Wilson each drove in one run for Vanoss. The Lady

Kinsey Maldonado drove in five runs on four hits to lead the Dewar Lady Dragons past the Vanoss Lady Wolves 16-1 in the second game Tuesday. Maldonado hit a home run in the second scoring two, singled in the fourth scoring two and singled in the third scoring one.
Dewar opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. The Lady Dragons first got on the board when Emmy Hall singled, scoring one run.
Six more Dewar Lady Dragons runs crossed the plate in the second inning to extend the lead to 8-0. Raygin Thomas scored after tagging up, Maldonado homered, scoring two runs, Hall hit a solo home run, an error scored one run and Alyssa Baughman singled, scoring one run.
The Lady Dragons added one run in the third after Maldonado singled.
Dewar scored seven runs on eight hits in the top of the fourth inning. Baughman grounded out, scoring one run, Jaycie Berry singled, scoring one run, Korbyn Anderson singled, scoring one run, Bre Harvell singled, scoring one run, Maldonado singled, scoring two runs and Emma Bear singled, scoring one run.
Cali Thomason stepped in the circle first for the Lady Dragons. The starter surrendered five hits and one run over four innings, striking out none and walking none.
Dewar amassed 20 hits in the game. Maldonado and Bear each collected four hits for Dewar Lady Dragons. Harvell, Anderson, Berry and Hall each collected multiple hits. The Lady Dragons turned three double plays in the game.
Addi Sheppard led Vanoss with one run batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. The Lady Wolves turned one double play in the game.

Dewar added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Kinsey Maldonado doubled, Emmy Hall singled and Maldonado scored after tagging up, each scoring one run.
A ground out by Korbyn Anderson extended the Lady Dragons’ lead to 7-1 in the top of the third inning.
