Jordan Wesley and Elijah Johnson also played key roles, helping the relays while Wesley clocked a 54.28 in the 400-meter dash and Johnson finished 11th in the long jump with a leap of 18-07.50.

Distance runner Isaiah Clay tallied points in the 1600 (5th, 5:15.41) and 3200 meter runs (5th, 11:12.74), while teammate Josiah Hughes showed versatility with top-15 finishes in both the 110 and 300-meter hurdles.

In field events, Brent Robinson-Bullard and Jason Nethon stood out in the shot put, throwing 40-10 and 40-07 respectively.

The Lady Demons posted strong relay finishes, placing fifth in both the 4×100 (53.73) and 4×400 (4:31.31) meter relays. The 4×100 team featured Emmbreah Triplett, Kamya Stallings, Christen Bagby and Destiny Clay, while the 4×400 squad included Rylee Youngblood and the same core runners.

Stallings sprinted to a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.84. Triplett was 12th in the 100 (13.69) and 10th in the 200 (29.06), while Bagby and Lacy Williams rounded out individual efforts in the 400, 800, high jump and long jump events.

— Preston Athletes Compete Across Events While Preston High School didn’t score team points, several Pirates put in notable performances.

Caden Hollier led the boys in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.70, and also helped Preston’s 4×100 relay team finish 11th in 47.93. Rylan Hicks clocked 1:00.64 in the 400 and was a member of both sprint relay teams.

In the 800, Braylan O’Mara and Braxton Kessler finished with times of 2:45.60 and 2:59.45 respectively. Samuel Criner ran a 12:53.20 in the 3200-meter run and Carson Hubert clocked a 6:18.69 in the 1600.

In field events, Blake Norris threw 39-01 in the shot put and 93-04 in the discus, while Aiden Kemp added a 36-03 effort in shot put.

— Looking Ahead

With strong showings from both schools, athletes will continue building toward regional meets and potential state qualifications. Beggs’ boys will be a team to watch, especially in the relays, while individual standouts like Stallings, Ross and Clay continue to deliver across events.

Both Beggs and Preston teams are scheduled to compete in upcoming meets as the spring track season intensifies.
