The Henryetta High School powerlifters competed in the State Powerlifting Meet in El Reno, delivering strong performances.
Bub Miller achieved his best three-lift total of the season, narrowly missing a podium finish.
Blake Gaxiola entered the competition aiming for 1st place but faced an early setback with a missed squat attempt. He fought back throughout the day to stay in contention for 2nd place. His final attempt in the deadlift required a 590-lb pull, which he successfully lifted, but a technical error pushed him down to 4th place. Despite the setback, both lifters put forth an outstanding effort.
The Henryetta Junior High powerlifters also competed at the State Meet, with several lifters performing at their best: Mekko McNac earned 2nd place in his weight division and came close to winning the title.
