The City of Henryetta has officially called for a Nonpartisan General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, April 1, 2025. The election, outlined in Resolution No. 1310, was passed and approved by the Henryetta City Council during a regular session on Dec. 17, 2024. This election will fill three key City Council positions for four-year terms expiring in 2029.
The filing period for candidates interested in running for office begins at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025, and ends at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025. Individuals wishing to declare their candidacy must do so through the Okmulgee County Election Board.
The offices up for election include:
• Councilmember from Ward 3
• Councilmember from Ward 4
• Councilmember At Large To qualify, candidates must meet specific criteria:
• Be a resident of Henryetta or the relevant ward for at least six months before filing.
• Be a registered voter within the municipality.
Absentee ballots will be available for voters in compliance with state laws, providing all eligible citizens with the opportunity to participate in this important municipal election. Residents interested in public service are urged to consider running for one of the available positions. This election is a chance for Henryetta citizens to influence the leadership and policies that affect their daily lives.
