In a highly anticipated playoff matchup, Coach Josh Been’s Dewar Dragons handily defeated the Turpin Cardinals by a final score of 66-18.

The game started off with Dewar quickly establishing their dominance. On the opening drive, running back Braelin Lewis punched in a touchdown to give Dewar an early 6-0 lead. They would go on to score two more touchdowns in the first quarter, with Lewis finding the end zone again and quarterback Peyton Kilhoffer scoring on a quarterback draw.

Dewar continued their onslaught in the second quarter. Lewis broke free for a long touchdown run, and Hoffer added another score on the ground to make it 36-6 at halftime.

The Cardinals tried to mount a comeback in the second half, with quarterback Carson Peters connecting with a receiver for a touchdown. However, Dewar’s offense proved to be too much. Lewis added two more rushing touchdowns, and Hoffer scored once more on a quarterback keeper.

When the final whistle blew, the scoreboard read Dewar 58, Turpin 18. The Dragons’ dominant performance propels them to the semifinals, where they will face the Hollis Tigers.

Dewar’s rushing attack was the key to their success, led by the outstanding play of Braylon Lewis. The senior running back finished the game with over 200 yards and four touchdowns. Quarterback Kilhoffer also had a strong game, using both his arm and his legs to keep the Cardinals’ defense off balance.

This was a tough end to the season for the Turpin Cardinals, who came into the game with a 9-1 record. Despite the lopsided loss, the Cardinals can be proud of the successful season they put together.
